Kevin Le Doux

Professional Background

Kevin Le Doux boasts an impressive career spanning almost 40 years.  As Assistant Director of Materials Management at SUNY Downstate Medical  Center from June 1993 to December 2017, Le Doux excelled in overseeing  five service departments in a 375-bed facility. He managed daily supply  chain operations, ensuring the efficient procurement, distribution, and  inventory control of essential medical and operational supplies. His  responsibilities also included recruitment, training, performance  evaluation, and ensuring compliance with OSHA and State regulations.  Additionally, he played a crucial role in drafting IFBs and RFPs,  reviewing bid proposals, and managing logistics operations.

Beyond  his operational leadership, Le Doux was instrumental in pioneering  diversity among vendor selection and participation at the institution.  Recognizing the longstanding exclusion of minority vendors due to  "fronting schemes" that effectively barred their inclusion, he  spearheaded initiatives to dismantle these barriers and create equitable  opportunities. His efforts led to a more inclusive procurement process,  setting a precedent for fair competition and broadening the  institution’s supplier base.

During his tenure as Assistant  Director at Long Island College Hospital from July 2013 to August 2014,  Le Doux directed the restructuring of the storeroom and receiving areas,  significantly improving efficiency. Prior to these roles, as Manager at  SUNY Downstate Medical Center from July 1985 to June 1993, he  implemented cost-saving measures, reducing archiving service costs from  $3 million to $800 thousand annually, and streamlined delivery systems.  Le Doux’s early career as Assistant Manager at SUNY Downstate Medical  Center from September 1979 to July 1985 saw him supervising a team of 15  employees and four volunteers, managing various operational areas.

His effective  communication skills have enabled him to build and maintain quality  relationships with team members, customers, and vendors, and resolve  conflicts efficiently.

Activities and Community Involvement

He actively  participates in charity games to support notable causes, including the  American Cancer Society and veteran support organizations. As a National  Soccer Coach affiliated with the United States Soccer Federation, he  dedicates his time to youth development, leveraging his expertise to  mentor and train aspiring athletes.

In  2020, he was among the inaugural class of 18 coaches across North  America to achieve certification in the prestigious La Liga Formation  Methodology (LLFM) conferred in Madrid, Spain, further solidifying his  commitment to advancing coaching excellence and player development.
