His expertise has been sought after both locally and internationally, providing advisory services to approximately nine countries. Dr. Hazlewood has also served as a consultant to several federal agencies, bringing his wealth of knowledge to the national policy arena.

Dr. Hazlewood’s professional affiliations include honorary fellowships in several esteemed dental organizations, such as FAHD, FACD, FICD, and FADI. Additionally, he is a William Gies Fellow, recognizing his impact on the dental profession.

As the Director of Development for NYC Health and Hospitals Corporation, he spearheaded the integration of hospital dentistry into the New York hospital system, planned and implemented a citywide ambulatory care center system, and oversaw the development of two major teaching hospitals. His influence extended to national healthcare policy when he served as the Coordinator of Healthcare Policy Development for President Jimmy Carter’s presidential campaign, shaping critical healthcare discussions.
